Brass catcher for lever rifles?

I want a bit of freedom to enjoy my lever rifle without having to keep an eye on where my brass is falling.
Yes a tarp can work if you stay within it's confines and you weigh down the edges so the wind don't carry it away and have done that.

So for a huge investment of 12 bucks I ordered up a Caldwell catcher that looks to be somewhat universal with a Velcro strap and
wire frame. Got it fitted on my Big Boy .357 and had to bend down the wire at the wrap edge to keep it below my rear sight.
Loaded an empty case into the chamber and it landed in the bag when lever was cycled...promising...and will give it a run next time at the range.

I have that same catcher I use on my AR's-best thing ever to save brass-it gets expensive if your a reloader and lose half your brass every range trip.
That's a good idea-I think I will try that on my Henry's as well

Ever chased jack rabbits (or any other running game) with ANYTHING that ejects shell cases?

If so forget collecting your brass!

Ugly as sin...but, maybe a good idea. I hate chasing brass. Every time I run the action, I am distracted by where is my brass going. Hmmm

With levers on a bench its not so much a problem.

I typically just slowly eject the fired case, grab it an put it in a bag.

Levers in general are not bad as they dont send brass flying like semi autos.

The 45-70 cases are like picking up loose 50 cent coins, the 25-20 cases like quarters.

interesting .... I've seen them on AR's and semi automatic shotguns but not on lever actions .... at first look, I tend to believe one wouldn't work on our Henry rifles because of the scopes we've mounted on them

That's a great idea, forty. Trying to see where your brass lands is a pain, if not impossible. I usually lose a few.

I use to do the same thing Fish. Now I dont care. I bet I dont go shooting enough to lose enough cases that its going to even matter that much. I just have fun and enjoy the time Im getting to shoot. I can buy another bag of brass.
