Our .45-70 shooters here need this back up gun!

Post by fortyshooter » Fri Feb 07, 2020 11:13 am

Now I have owned a 7.5 inch BFR revolver in .45-70 and this will be a handful! https://www.americanrifleman.org/articl ... 3375062d86
However with short barrel most of the slow rifle powder will go out the barrel...use Unique loads for it!

After the recoil and it flies back and hits me in the head, guess it won't matter much what happens next...

If I had some "extra" bones in my hand, I might give it a try. Think I'll pass. LOL

Not sure, but, if you need a 'back up' for a 45-70, you may want to check your predicaments better.
Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

Never hunted with 45-70, but
will say the two animals that I shot with my 444 :o didn't require a backup.
Even though I usually have one. just a double 4 though. ;)
