What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
I haven't sat down at my bench since fall. Starting on some 9mm loads today... I have a bunch of Universal and 124 grain Berry's round nose. Starting with 4 grains and an oal of 1.15, mixed brass. Loaded 10 rounds to start with and we'll see how they do... WOW, the last time I had a loading session it was loading 45-70.... 4 grains of universal seems like a tiny bit of dust compared to 55 grains of 4895!

More power to ya if you can load 9mm Greyhawk. I quit doing it even though I can. The price to buy them is nearly what you can load them for and that doesnt count the time to do it.

Ha! ya, its a tough decision! But, believe it or not 9mm is drying up in my neck of the woods again, not sure why.. The shelves are empty of 9mm at my favorite local outlet.. Maybe just a temporary blip. I'm sure I could buy it all over the place online... But, I thought it would be good to have a couple of pet loads ready to go In case ammo supplies really did disappear again like they did a few years ago.
Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Well, today, I started back reloading for my Walther PPS M2 9mm. Using Hogdon CFE Pistol powder, 5.2 grs. Hornady 124gr XTP JHP,
CCI 500 primer. Got a few hundred loaded up, some time back, got 500 more to go. Don't get to shoot a lot, so it'll last me a while.
Relaxing doing it tho, mostly a hobby for me to pass the time, when weather, etc is too bad to get outside.

I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.

Already tumbled the .22 Hornet brass I shot this morning. I'll resize and prime this evening. Hopefully, after cooking supper, I'll have time to add powder and bullets.

Finished off a couple errands this morning[yeah, honey do's], now, to the bench to load up some more of those RR .45 Colt load: 7.0gr Universal/250gr LRNFP bullets. I'm likin' that load along with my standard 8.0gr Unique and same bullet. Variety, the spice of life!

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Hey Tom, what about the accuracy of the two loads, much difference?
I haven't ever used Universal.
Want to try some 2400 and a 250 gr for the 45lc

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Al, I have only had the gongs for about a year now, and I have not really shot the 41 at the gongs much.
Last year I didn't really shoot it all that much at all last year till I started working on the 270 gr cast load.
So if I were to at the moment, it would be those 270's and 17.0 grs of H 110.
Those will sure ring it at the 50 yd mark.
But that new one I will move out in the old hog lot, and will try them on it with some of those.
My last 210 bullet load was with Blue dot.

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Ive got a ton of 41 mag bullets I need to use up. But my steel loads right now are 8 grain of Unique. When I shoot up these cast bullets I will probably use alot of extreme 210's They shoot good in the Henry.

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
I have a couple hundred lubed 210's that once are all gone.
Mine will only see PC'd bullets and probably more of the 270's than anything.
I have a Lee 210 mold, and this 270 one from Accurate, and a good amount of lead.
I have some jacketed stuff but, probably never use it.
Maybe for the Blackhawk.

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Randy, the only time I tried that Universal load, I had only loaded ten rounds. They seemed pretty accurate tho. The target picture that Al put up a couple weeks ago should show those on the bottom portion. I'll know soon enough, 'cause I'm heading to the range Thursday, hopefully. I'll get you a report. Haven't tried 2400 in the 45C either. Yet.

Group sizes about the same, just the 8.0 hit higher which should be expected.BigAl52 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2020 6:21 pmhttp://henryrifleforums.com/viewtopic.p ... 93#p120593

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Pretty much want to see about that Universal load. I have a bunch of Unique and only about 1/2 lb of Universal, so, we'll see. Never a bad thing to have two good loads for a firearm.
