Pretty good dimple. Is that a 1/2" thick target?
I've been impressed with some heavy cast bullets loaded warm in the 444 at 50 yds.

Those are 3/8ths thick AR 500. It is a heavy built tree from Action Target. Speed may have been in the 1800 FPS range out the rifle and maybe more.

When I went up in that load, the groups started opening up.
11.2- 11.4 were my best with that powder.
You may have better results.

Thanks for that tip! I am at the 11.5 load point right now. Might try that 11.2 and compare on paper targets.

Forty Ive a toggle link Uberti 357. Its an 18 inch trapper model. Soon as I can load some more gonna run some of those in that Uberti. Also if you guys are lookn to buy any Steel gongs take a look at Shooting7 I like there stuff and they are vets. They carry everything you need including the hangers to hang the steel. Prices are very reasonable

ITs Henry forums own version of Hickok 45. Nice shootin on the steel forty. I notice those steel plates on the ground had no issue with fallin over. Even the Coyote didnt hesitate. Nice to come home and be watchin Forty on the TV. Im thinkin https://henryrifleforums.com/posting.ph ... =123211#in my 357 those 180's are going to be a regular. I have some Zero 158 jacketed also that shoot very well but not as good as the 180's.

Al, the 180's of some variation is about all I have been shooting for the past few years.
I have 500 158 gr cast, probably a swc, as I can't remember,
that's been sitting on the back off the bench for I don't really know how long.
The box isn't even opened. I just keep grabbing the 180's.

Hey forty...

I went and found it for ya.
You can see the three dents, 320+ gr cast and a heavy dose of H 4895,
the others are some 223 LAP ammo.
All shots were taken at 50yds.
It's an antique implement weight.
