Re: The best and worst western movies:
Deadwood movie was great....very satisfying wrap up to the series. Attention to period details were spot on as usual. Marshal Bullock packs his Remington 1875 revolver with it's 7.5" barrel...awesome.
Post script: I read an interesting quote from Timothy Olyphant (Bullock), he said that it wasn't so much the stories of the series that people liked, it was spending time with those characters. That is exactly it for me.

Re: The best and worst western movies:
While doing a bunch of morning stuff the CMT Western channel had a a pretty cornball western on this morning - 'The Gatling Gun' -I kind of 'half watched'.
Never saw it before but typical of the early 70s era westerns.
Along with the weak plot and bad acting were long periods of 'cowboy and indian' shootouts with NO reloading of rifles, pistols or the Gatling Gun when used. The best part however were the spots of fire starting on the ground wherever the the Gatling Gun bullets hit!
It actually had a few well known names in it (Patrick Wayne, John Carradine and Pat Buttram) but it wasn't enough to carry it far.
It was the same year as 'Big Jake' where Patrick played the son of his father in the movie but without his dad in this movie he kind of missed the mark.

Re: The best and worst western movies:
How about a real oldie. The Ox Bow Incident. With a very young Henry Fonda.

Re: The best and worst western movies:
I've watched it several times. It's a sobering drama about injustice and mob mentality and one of the very best films ever made.

Did anyone who may have watched the Super Bowl catch the best commercial, ( IMO ) Doritos with Sam Elliot?

I liked that one as well Mark but the rest of them are just another commercial. There no where near as good as some of them in the past.
