Hand did hurt after.
Get a collet style puller.
Got one in the drawer. With a bunch of broken collets. Always marred the bullets too.
I just never got it working correctly.
Maybe my crimp was an issuse.
The kinetic puller was faster.
I was using a pair of locking pliers in the top of the press.

Hmm.. I don't know how a collet could get broken unless the wrong size is being used. Pretty basic since the collet centers on the bullet and is tightened by compression with limited flex on the collet.

As far as marring bullets that can happen but I have never had a problem with reloading a marred bullet or with accuracy either.

Like I said, "never could get it to work properly".

I liked how the kinetic puller could do from 243 cases to to 25-20 no changing parts.

What was happening? Was it not holding the bullets tight enough?

I assume you were using the right size collet(s) correct?

I mean there is not much to go wrong as it is simply screwed into the press and the collet is tightened down on the bullet with the threaded compression insert.

What it comes down too is the collets puller with detailed written instructions, with pictures, didn t work more that 70% off the time.
Usually the bullet wouldn't move the collets would slip off and I would have to reset and make it tighter. Breaking collets that cost extra. Went through 3 45-70 collets.

The kinetic puller on the other hand, came with no instructions. I looked it over saw how it worked put a 30-30 cartridge in after a couple false starts, wham it worked.
It's also portable and I can take it to the range.

Oh, I'm willing to say it was me and not the tool.

I have and have used both .... for me, they both work OK well pulling bullets that aren't crimped .... I've never broken a collet but have found that it is a whole lot harder to use on big bore, tightly crimped bullets .... based on past experience I won't even use it on 45-70 and 44 jacketed bullets .... if they come, they will be deeply marred .... with cast bullets, the marring is even worse .... I haven't used the impact hammer with anything over 30 caliber rifle bullets

I spent some time attempting to remove bullets from some slightly overloaded cases. I've had a hundred rounds loaded for a year. They are loaded above the 'max' load for my rifle. I bought the 'grip n pull' plier. It does not have the grip to remove using my Lee press.

After struggling for a while, I thought I would use my kinetic hammer. What a pain in the buttocks.

I am seriously tempted to just shoot them. It is a load of 15 grns of 2400. About .7 grns above max. Yeah, I had a brain fart when I read the load for 125. I shoot 158.

Anybody been here? I will reload them if I have to.
Are these jacketed bullets or cast? In my manuals I'm looking at, With jacketed, you're barely over max, with cast, at least one grain or more over.
Tough call on shooting those. Maybe get the Hornady collet and pull 'em to be safe. If you go that way, you'd need the right collet and the Cam lock bullet puller. But, they work.

Tom, they are jacketed. It was only frustration saying I'd shoot them. I don't need that worry. I will hammer them out. Suck it up and be an adult. If I were 20, I'm not sure I'd make that decision correctly.

Life lived, lessons learned.

I have never tore down more than a few bullets at a time and the kinetic hammer works great for me.
I have used it on 30-30, 357's, 44's, 45acp and 444's, no problems what so ever.

I haven't done anything at mine in a couple days, but
today I bought something for the range.
