What did you do at your reloading bench today?

Used mine to finish cleanin the 1860 pistol.

Was shootin the backyard gong this afternoon.
I need the practice.
But the grandson smiled & laughed.

Honestly I was at about 50%, maybe just a little better. I think he liked all the smoke best of all.
But he does like to hear 'em go bang, kept trying to take the ear protection off.

That BP bang is alot different than the smokeless bang. Is your 1860 a Uberti or Pietta.

Neither that one is a ASM, I have a '51 that is a Pietta, and a '58 that is a CVA.
Also have a '51 in .36 cal. that is a Hawes. I've been watchin a Pietta '62 in .36 and a short barrel.
Can't make up my mind whether or not I really need it.

I did spend a little time at mine today, in fact I just finished.
Per Tom's advice, I loaded 10 250 Keith style bullets, 5 very similar 240 gr gas checked bullets up for the 44 BBB.
I did though have to seat them a little deeper to get them to cycle, so we will see.
The longest they can be to cycle are 1.635. something else to try.

While I was already there I loaded 30 more or the PN 180 357's. I know those will shoot.

I miss spoke in the other thread. There is no 240 but there is some other bullets that might work. If you want to try some of the 250's Randy I would send you some like I did Forty. You would need to deep seat them though to be able to cycle those.

Thanks Al, I'm good at the moment, I've a box of 100 less the 10 I just loaded.
Those others are actually a 245gr GC. bullet.
And I have a couple of others I can try later.

I've got some RFN 275 gr that came from Bear Creek supply out of CA.
Looks like something for a 45 colt.
There's also some 255 gr bullets that are of a similar design to the Keith, and some 200 gr SWC's.

Not sure which of these I tried as it's been a couple years since I really played with this rifle.
We will see what this load tom gave me does.
But seeing we have to seat these so deep to cycle they may not have the accuracy that Tom's buddy was seeing.
I may see about modifying the lifter, to receive a long round.
Or it may just find another Home.

No problem Randy. I like Leadheads bullets. I see he has some 41's Id like to try someday. But right now Im pretty fat on 41 projectiles. I will be ordering some 38-55 boolits from him though. I think the sidegate 38-55 might make a trip to KC with me.
