Great News

Post by JEBar » Fri Jan 17, 2020 2:37 pm

after something over 3 years mixed highs and lows, we are within 4 - 6 months of (officially) having our 5th grandchild .. :D .. he will be four years old next month and our single daughter has been fostering him since he was seventeen months old.... he and two brothers where taken by social services when they were found to be living in conditions that it wouldn't serve any positive purpose to go into .... in court this morning both parents gave up their parental rights .... they have one week during which they can change their minds .... while that could happen, based on what happened in court this morning, it isn't anticipated .... if nothing changes between now and next Friday, the formal adoption process will begin .... 4 to 6 months from then, his adoption will be official .. 8-) .. for our entire family, that will be a very happy day .... until then we are prohibited from posting any type of identifying details or pictures .... in keeping with what we have done for our oldest grandson, a few years from now another Henry 357 will be in the gun vault .. :D

Great news my friend. I have two boys of my own, one foster son who is now retired from the Army, an adopted daughter who is now a shrink in Buffalo, NY, a step daughter who runs her own real estate group, and an ex daughter in law who considers us her parents and we consider her as another daughter. (Her real mother and step dad won't give her the time of day.)

So you see we have gone down this road and are pretty happy with what we've done.

Oh, and two great grandkids in Alaska.

Kids are just kids and they need someone in their lives to raise them right.

Good on your daughter. :D

I here ya coop, my daughter by my first wife has a daughter, first grandchild she's 17.
Then my stepson and daughter, been mine since they were 5 and 2, the sperm donor as he is referred to doesn't have anything to do with them.
Son has a son, number 2 grandson 4, and the daughter has 2 boys first and third grandsons 3 and 5, and is expecting to have her third son this Summer.
Actually the youngest will be 3 this Sunday.

The granddaughter and the #2 grandson live close, in the same county. The daughter lives in SC, our SIL is a Sargent in the Air Force.
We will be going out there to visit when it's time. ;)

thanks guys .... even though we have been pretty sure about the way it was going to go, having it do so in court this morning was a major relief .... members of our family have spread across the country and they are all excited .... our Daughter plans to bring him out west while we are there this summer .... the family out there is already planning a welcome to the family party .... at 4 years old, he won't realize what's going on or notice any difference .... our Daughter is the only Mom he's known

Glad for you and your family, Jim. My wife and I had 4 kids, and fostered another dozen. It always amazes me to see the love for little ones.

Believing for the best for all.

Outstanding. A solid homelife can make all the difference in the world.
