Well yeah! here’s my Christmas present to myself....always fascinated by the Sharps carbines in the old westerns and always wanted one...now that’s done as of 4 days ago.... Ordered it from Taylor’s & Co and they promptly shipped it to my dealer...I had attempted to order a couple of months previously but it was out of stock....glad that it was in retrospect...can’t imagine a more beautiful little carbine than this one. Had it out to the deer woods a couple of times but no deer were seen...fit, finish, and function are excellent, that falling block action glides like a figure skater on ice, case color is beautiful, and as a bonus it has a nicely figured walnut stock! It shoots to point of aim...a dab of white fingernail polish on the thin front sight blade makes that sight very easy to see. Have shot the Hornady lever evolution primarily at this point and now I have a batch of my reloads using the Sierra 300g fnhp...it shoots both loads as well as I can see and hold in the field...man what a beauty!!!

They make great rifles. Lots of guys used those when I still shot BPCR with my Shiloh 45-100. Price was about half what a Shiloh sold for.

Wonderful looking rifle. I can understand why you are so pleased with it. Always had curiosity about the weapon but it is not something that would serve much purpose around here (however that is not always much of a deterrent for a nice gun).

Yep - very nice - Pedersoli makes a nice gun! - they have come a long way!

I still sometimes 'kick' myself for NOT buying the used Shilo I came close to a couple years ago. Always wanted a Sharps but when it came down to it not wanting to get into a new caliber to load for pulled me back.

I wanted the gun but not the caliber - make sense?

Thanks for the accolades....it’s an excellent recreation of a piece of history...it’s amazing this basic design dates to about 1848 with changes to accommodate percussion priming, tape priming, and then self contained cartridges....the action reminds me of a 90* adaptation of a 105mm howitzer breech...I wrapped the saddle ring with some yarn to keep it from rattling in the woods...hard to put this rifle down...
