.
Once got selected for the county grand jury. Normally 6 weeks, 3 days a week (no trials Mon and Fri). One of the weeks had a holiday, which the Judges took off. So it was just 5 weeks served. Very interesting process and cases that come before the grand jury. I was honored to serve and do it again gladly.

I've never served on a Grand Jury, but I did serve on a Jury in a Medical Malpractice lawsuit. It was a rewarding civic experience; three weeks of witness testimony and lawyer's arguments followed by three days of deliberating the veracity and strength of the arguments. Initially, we were a split jury that eventually concluded with a unanimous decision in favor of the plaintiff. I'd gladly do it again if asked.

For some reason, never been called for the jury pool.
(Even though Tina and I are both registered to vote and haven't missed an election in twenty five years.)

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Got called for jury duty for the first time this year. Did not get picked the first week for the 2 juries seated but got picked for the trial the next week which only lasted 2 days. Interesting process but would not care to do it again with my hearing problem. They let me sit down front but I still had trouble and was concerned with not understanding everything. Judge was very tolerant with me.
Had to testify at a State and a Federal grand jury when I lived in Minnesota and that was stressful. Had people stalking me and my family, got a death threat, not a good time.

I guess I am lucky. My previous career has kept me out of the pool and if I "was" called up my chances of being seated would be slim to none. If selected, after further screening, they would probably dismiss me for medical reasons.
