On the way to Church this AM it was clear and -17. Sunrise was spectacular.

My Dad used to say, "Clear as a bell and colder than hell".
Funny, I never thought of hell ass being cold.

Clear and warmer today. 60° is the expected high. I have a stop in Boone NC today 41° high there. Luzianne white lable w/ white chocolate creamer today. We ran out of Luzianne and had to drink Cafe Du Monde for a whole week.

Cafe Du Monde is the house coffee of Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans French quarter. It is a similar coffee to Luzianne white label except it is ground finer so has a slightly different taste.

So far I have dodged the snow and ice ..at the moment they are squealing that it's coming today.... Funny, in the summer when I really need rain for my pastures I hope they are right when they predict it's coming...in the winter I hope they don't know what they are talking about...would seem I'm a difficult man to please ..but actually. I'm like most folks....I want what I want when I want it....and like most....I usually don't get it ...without a lot of effort...that's I expect is how it was meant to be ....at least in the mean time I do have my coffee to sup on.....it's not so bad...hope the rest of you get what you wants today...or sometime......until then...keep the coffee pot full and hot ....

Looks like it will be a beautiful day here in Raleigh. It’s 42 now, but we will hit 65 with partly cloudy skies.

It’s really good to be back in the USA after spending the last two weeks in Germany.

26 degrees right now but no snow. First day of vacation so of course I woke up at 3:30. Hot Costa Rican coffee and my Kindle for a bit then have to do some work in the shop. Good Morning!

Winter storm round #1 has ended and the Northland here was not as "blessed" with white flakes as those folk living south of us on the KS-side of the MO River. Not sure about ice because I've not been out on the roads. One of the perks of retirement.

Round #1 ended at 5-1/2" snowfall. Round #2 is to be moving through this morning but carry less than 3" for my area. I was kept awake around midnight with the snow removal fellows cleaning our street, driveways, and sidewalks (included in the HOA services). Kind of nice to have the snow shovel as a deco tool just hanging in the garage.

BTW, this was the first time Winkie (new kitten) has ever seen snow. I could tell she was not overly impressed. If she were to step out on the backyard wooden deck, she might have other thoughts!

The hot mug of double mocha is extra-warming this morning. Have a good day, Henry Folk.

14 this morning. Heat wave. Supposed to very slowly warm up to the thirties by the weekend.
Last weekend I smoked a bunch of salmon. Yesterday the Wife made candy and spiced pecans for
the Christmas baskets we exchange with the neighbors. Next week we will visit each neighbor
and distribute them. Then they will have something for us. Good time of year.
One neighbor who owns a large Floral Company already brought us a beautiful Poinsettia.

Coffee in my VFW cup and workshop time today. Probably go out to lunch somewhere.

Life is good being retired and a kept man. :D

Yeah, it's not morning. 8 pm and 14 degrees. Stepped out on porch for a cigar, smelled the sweet odor of wood smoke. Life is good.

Says 27° wind chill below 20°. Maybe not bad temp for some of you Hardy folk but I will be wrapped up in all my rigging when I get out and feed calves this morning...not planning lots of outside stuff today....supposed to be back in fifties in a few days...for now it's hot coffee and think about it awhile.....
