A new barrel for my friends 10/22

JEBar, I understand about wanting to stay with U.S. made guns, but the U.S. gun makers have gotten out of the wood and steel bolt rimfire market ....They've left the door wide open for CZ as far as traditional wood and metal rimfire bolt guns.

absolutely and I'm glad there are alternatives available .... for me the good news is, I have absolutely no NEED for another long gun .... with the exception of a Long Ranger chambered for 30-30, I don't have a significant WANT for another one .... here again, speaking strictly for myself, it is possible that some new caliber may come along that I find I simply can't live without but that ain't likely ... those factors most certainly make it easy for me to stay with American Made .... in the last 30+ years I've purchased 3 rifles .... all 3 were purchased in the last 5 years and all 3 were made by Henry

Sometimes we buy something for the fun in making the after market mods. For fun regardless of the waste of money.

I really like loading and shooting 30-30 .... I've messed around loading 30-30 cases with top of the line Nosler spitzer bullets to the point I know doing so opens a whole new world for what is usually referred to the "venerable 30-30" .... a truly fun to fire 30 caliber .. a magazine fed Long Ranger would provide that opportunity

I share with you the fun of shooting .30-30. I can see the appeal a mag feed .30-30 could have.

if Henry was to ever build one, it wouldn't have any competition .... I'm convinced that it sell and would quickly build a large following

My 10/22 carbine, the hardwood base model, is completely stock, but for the BX trigger I put in it a couple of years ago. It’s a very accurate rifle, and I have seen no reason to fix something that’s not broken.

That being said, Green Mountain has a good reputation. If the barrel doesn’t do better at future range outings, perhaps a call to their customer service would be in order.
