Went out to the range today with my son to take just a few shot. He’d made some upgrades to his AR and wanted to check functionality. So I grabbed the new Henry and we headed out.
The three on the top left are from the other day. The two top right are to check the scope adjustment. The rounds are 95 grain Federal Fusion.
The three at the bottom are Federal Berger Hybrids. First two were in the same hole, the one to the right was a flinch (I called it at the shot). I’ve a Savage light varmint .223 that I don’t think shoots quite this well. Even with the accu-trigger.
This rifle is a keeper!
Guess who just had a birthday? We did. Henry Rifle Forums has made it to the 10 year mark. Thank you to all members, I'm glad you are here!

Re: Henry shot .243 Part Deux
Actually for hunting purposes it is dialed in. Based on the scope height, barrel length and the ballistics of the hunting round of choice, if I set the scope such that I’m three inches high at 100 yards I’m three inches high at 200 yards with a maximum height over line of sight of 3 1/2”. Drop of the bullet at 300 yards would be about 3 1/2”. So from zero to 300 yards that’s a seven inch window. Within the boiler room of an average size deer. So hold a pinch low of the middle out to 200 and a pinch high at 300.
So says the math
NOTE: The horizontal lines on the target are a wee under an inch apart - it’s actually a poster board I’d used for something else.

without any hesitation, I'd hunt with that trajectory .... you've certainly come up with a setup that should serve you well
