Range bag
We had very high winds today so I mostly just stayed around home and spent time in my room. I had a nice carry bag just hanging here for about two years that I had no use for and tried to give it away a few times so I got it down and decided I would make a ammo carry bag out of it. Quick trip to Walmart to get two Plano storage boxes. I measured the bag before leaving the house and the Plano measured right for two to fit. Leaving the dividers out I was able to get 16 boxes in the rows and an extra box on the space at the end. To get another box in I would have to cut a section from the row divider and weaken the divider. The clear see through lid will let me see the brand and the lot number I write on the box with a Sharpie pen. I got tired of the card board box having to look through the whole box to find what I wanted and constantly have to straighten it out at the end of the shooting session. I put two boxes of each lot number of the brands of ammo I shoot the most in the bag. Partial boxes will fit in between the plastic boxes and get shot first at the range. Targets can be carried in the top. Also has an over shoulder strap which will make it easier to carry from my truck to the table. Here is the bag loaded up ready for the next trip.

Re: Range bag
It would take me awhile to go though that much ammo.
Love the organization and ease of use. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Range bag
Looks good now you have me thinking about some totes and boxes taking up space and serving no purpose.
Thanks for giving me something to do.

Re: Range bag
bandit, your next step might need to be something like Evan's (ESquared) mule to transport your shooting gear ....

.
Good organization there. It looks like it could be heavy though.
