Re: Happy Halloween Everyone!!!
as has become our custom, our family gathered at our youngest son's home where my wife and I gave out candy and our kids took our grandkids trick-or-treating .... thunderstorms all around, added to the Halloween atmosphere

Us too. 25 yrs and no one. Why, when we can, we go to son's place in Idaho. 8 pm and already out of candy and we did buy a ton of candy.

I like the Gargoyles atop the gate pillars, warding off evil! I have a small one at the top of my steps back home.

Someone set aside four pieces on the kitchen counter. Noticed them this morning. So we didn't quite run out.

Re: Happy Halloween Everyone!!!
Some Halloween!
Normally, we'd get more than 100 trick or treaters with SUVs lining the street as hoards of costumed kids emptied into the neighborhood. But there was a serious storm last night. It had been raining all day long, but it cleared out for a short while, perfectly timed for the witching hour. Between five and eight o'clock there wasn't any rain and the temps were warm, near seventy, though the wind was stiff. As a result, forty little kids showed up to collect their candy, accompanied by their ever-vigilant parents. Shut off the front porch light at eight.
After nine, heavy rain and sustained fifty mile per hour winds moved in. It caused lots of damage; many of the state's towns cancelled or delayed school this morning. Luckily, my house was spared and I didn't lose power, but it was a still a frightful night, listening to the howling wind and pounding rain in bed. I didn't fall asleep until well after midnight.

Re: Happy Halloween Everyone!!!
It was cold and snowy here. So we had 3 trick or treaters all together. We then went to the park behind my in-laws house, then their house. Done for the night.
