Country Ham

Post by JEBar » Tue Feb 27, 2018 7:50 pm

tonight we grilled Southern Country Ham for the first time .... I don't know how well doing so on a grill that uses direct heat but do know that with the indirect heat in our Holland Companion it turns out really well .... we will most certainly fix it this way again

Man that looks good. With the addition of a loaf of homemade bread and a couple Miller Hi Lifes I'd probably hurt myself.

Never tried it that way, but believe I will. Add some beans and good cornbread, then you will be eating Kentucky style...lol

the only negative so far has been the fact that grilling the country ham eliminates the possibility of making Red-eye Gravy ... :(

Nice... I love good ham.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

talk about a shocker == ==> Holland Grill Company Holland went out of business in 2019. All models are discontinued .... Holland Companions is the only portable grill that we've used for most of the last 30 years .... sure glad ours is doing well, I have no clue what I'd buy if I needed a replacement today

Don't get me wrong; I love Bo Jangles, just about everything on their menu, however, have gotten the country ham on a couple occasions and they might as well have put jerky on it. :o

No Bo Jangles around here, never even heard of them. I do really like Monster Biscuits from Carl's Jr. They say their biscuits are made fresh every morning.

We had Carl's Jr's when I lived on California, liked them a lot. Here, we have Hardees, ( owned by Carl's Jr. ) Same" star" logo too, just a different name.

I like the fact that the burgers and stuff at Carl's actually look like the ad pictures, Arby's aren't too far off, McD's and Burger King are not even close.
