I've always been tempted to get a Contender barrel in 25-20, as there were some made. Figured it would also be a sweet choice for a lever gun. Lots of history with this old cartridge, too. Are you finding brass? Any factory ammo out there, these days?

I have a source for factory ammo, well 5 more boxes, at $91 per 50ct case.
Brass is strictly a what you can find mostly well used.
When all said and done I'll have more into ammo than the cost of the rifle.

The Trailboss loads loads would fine for plinking or closer in small game hunting.
The H4198 is just what I want for PC Silhouette. A five inch drop between 50 and 100 meters. With plenty left to knock down a 1/2 size Ram.

Looking good, I haven't done anything with mine yet.
Do you really think there is a 5" drop between 50 & 100?

I knew , kind of, what I signed up for when I bought the Rifle. Scarce brass and ammo.
The rifle is so light it's sweet to shoot
Do you really think there is a 5" drop between 50 & 100?
Well 4 inches anyway. It is possible to get above 2000 fps at the expense of the brass. Something I'd do if hunting, but again, being in Cali, I'd need a nonlead bullet.

I'm in Cali. I Can't buy ammo online.
That mid right target looks good to me.
Next I 'll have to shoot some distance and see what it looks like at 50 meters.

I was in a groove with that group.
Definitely have try out that load at 50 meters.

Have you considered using 32=20 Starline brass necked down to 25? Starline also suggests the practice. I have a Colt Bisley revolver from the 19 teens in 32-20 that I use Starline brass and I am well pleased. Just my $0.02. I would love to get a lever gun to go with my Bisley that didn't cost a arm and leg.
