I don't care for that race layout. Hard to follow.
What happened to Rowdy? I missed that part.
Chase did do a fantastic job though.

I didn't like the layout when they first announced it, and the first Roval race was a mess, but now I think they are getting it figured out...kind of.

18 was a mess from the start, he was involved in at least two wrecks. At the end he decided to head back to the garage under the red flag, because he couldn't gain or lose any positions on the track.

heck of a strong showing in qualifying effort by Hendrick's team for today's race at Talladega .... Chase on the pole, followed by Bowman, Byron and Johnson in the top 4 slots .... thanking back to last year and earlier this year, it seems that they have finally figured out to get speed our of their Camaros ..

Hey All,

Remember qualifying speed at Dega or Daytona does not equal race speed. The car setups are different running in the open versus in a pack. I don't think most teams care at all about qualifying speed but instead actually use qualifying as a means of testing their race setup in clean air to see what they can do. You'll notice some cars are able to go from the back to the front in not a lot of laps - those cars work well in the draft with clean air speed being a secondary concern. A totally different style of racing compared to other tracks in NASCAR.

Now days I cheer for drivers not manufacturers since I'm a Mopar guy and dodge has been out of NASCAR for years.

Seemed like most of the field had a "checkers or wreckers" plan today. Glad nobody got hurt. Go #9!!!

Watched it yesterday, till the rain hit. Had it on the radio today while working, but only caught it once in a while. Just saw the highlight videos. Newman almost won it. The 6th closest finish in Nascar history. The part I'm puzzled about is how in the world did Kyle Busch finish on the lead lap after his car got wrecked like it did ?

Congrats to Ryan Blaney. Cool how he gave a young fan the Checkered Flag like he did.

Kyle's car was running at the end but wasn't capable of competing .... he got breaks with subsequent cautions and was the last car on the lead lap at the end of the race .... I'm about as far from being an 18 fan as it is possible to be but I do have to hand it to him .... he did all he could with the hand he was dealt

I am an 18 fan. I started watching him years ago when in every race he got the lead and then wrecked. They called him Mr. 110%
I always figured if he learned how to not wreck he would be phenomenal. He is that.

Congrats to Denny Hamlim, today's winner at Kansas.

Chase Elliott had a strong 2nd Place finish and along with Keselowski's poor 19th Place performance, Chase is still in the Chase (pun intended, lol).

The 4 eliminated today were:

• Brad Keselowski, No. 2 Team Penske Ford
• William Byron, No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet
• Alex Bowman, No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet
• Clint Bowyer, No. 14 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford

congrats indeed to the 11 team for winning at Kansas .... today they were the class of the field .... Chase drove hard and finished second which moved him to the next stage .... hated to see Boyer out of it .... also sorry to see the 9 is the only Hendrick car left
