SAR and Drug Interdiction
USCGC Point Evans 82376
Never deployed overseas but lowered onto a few nasty pitching decks while the boat sank from under the rescuees. Strafed a few .50 Cals across the bows of a few pleasure boaters coming up from Mexico that simply did not want to be boarded. Maybe that 200# of weed we found was the reason!
Fun times.

USAF 24 years, 22 days...missed out on Desert Storm, I was in boot camp and tech school when all that fun happened. Didn't miss out on GWOT...got plenty of time in the sandbox and other "garden spots" for that.

U.S. Army - 1977-2004. Retired Colonel. Spent 13 years in Artillery until I blew out a knew while serving with 7thID(L) and had to branch transfer to MI. Also trained as an Arabic-speaking Mideast/North Africa Foreign Area Officer.
