Our group had spread out, and at one point I passed a small group of people from another trekking group. As I passed, I said, "How are y'all doing this morning?"
A slightly telling silence ensued. I said, "Yes, I'm from Texas. Could you tell?"
A couple of chuckles from their group, then one guy didn't skip a beat: "You have taller mountains than these there, don't you?" "No," I said, "but we like to say we do. By the way, this is a rare moment of honesty. Consider yourselves privileged."
