Health update......

Post by fortyshooter » Tue Sep 10, 2019 9:29 pm

Buster is back to his normal self which is 200% and I wish who ever is beating my lower back with board would stop.
It's the constant lower back ache which comes around to your stomach area during the night plus the prickly pain if you put pressure
in the rash area. I take a couple of Nightime Pain relievers along with my 4 pill dose before bed.

Will most likely have to leave the Mustang in the barn for a while as driving would be painful getting pushed into the seat. :(

Hang in there Forty! Ain't fun. Know from experience. Just take it easy and also might consider Als' therapy along the way.
This too shall pass, hopefully sooner than later....feel better!

Get well! As noted previously, a little whiskey can help.

I wish you a quick recovery forty.

I think Al and Mags may be more medically inclined than we think. I agree with their prescription.

Good luck and glad the dog is better.

I hate to say this but it will take about a month to run it's blister and scabbing cycle.

Then hopefully you don't get any nerve damage. I'm about 12 weeks out from my initial outbreak and I still have nerve pain. Nothing like the first few weeks with the sharp pain, but I still hurt.

Usually normal pain goes down day by day. Not with shingles, it's like week by week.

Take your pain meds!!!

Sorry to read about your affliction, Coach (BTW, it's nice to see you posting again, though not exactly because of this subject). I've known too many people who have suffered from the symptoms you describe. I hope it ends well for you soon.

You all have sold me on the idea of getting the shingle shots. Walgreens in town has some and my insurance will cover it. Get the flu shot every year so I figure it is a good thing to do.

Just remember, just like a Flu shot, it is not a guarantee.
Even though I have had roofing, still have not decided. Did not even get a Flu shot last year, was careful about washing, touching and so on, and did not get sick. ( knock on wood ). :?

My insurance carrier misinformed me about being able to get a shot at the pharmacy. Walgreens informed me that my insurance would only pay for a shot at a doctor's office. I am checking into getting one at the county health department to avoid paying for a doctor visit.
I have been getting a flu shot for the last 12 years and have been fortunate to not have gotten sick with the crud my co-workers were suffering from.
