Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Looks like a cool and stormy Labor Day around here.
At least we're not having a Hurricane. I feel for those poor folks
in the Bahamas.
Six adults demolished that brisket yesterday. Not even enough left for a sandwich.
It turned out really good along with macaroni salad, corn on the cob and new tomatoes.
Finished it off with chocolate pie.
BTW, we were at Walmart Friday and I spied boiled peanuts on the shelf so we got
some. They were canned and spicy hot. We sat around the table on the deck
yesterday and ate them with beer. They were really good.

Sounds like a good time Coop!
I love boiled peanuts. They are very popular down here. ( vendors everywhere ). They are especially good hot, right out of the vat.

I lived in the South for nearly twenty years and somehow never found out about boiled peanuts. A friend at work mademarkiver54 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2019 9:18 am[quote=

some once but when he brought them in they were spoiled and inedible. We do have a few left so I'm going to try
warming them up. I hear they're better hot.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
boiled peanuts are at the minimum an acquired taste ..
.. one I'll never acquire ..
.. with one exception, that being Hurricane Dorian our 10 day forecast has settled into day temps in the mid to upper 80's and lows in the mid to upper 60's .... 10 to 20% chance of rain throughout the period with the exception of 100% on Thursday and 50% Friday morning --- that equal's Dorian ... its good to be back home to our home smoked breakfast sausage ..
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Sunny here in Creede this am. Been playing with the RV. Second time using it. For the most part its all good but there are a few things I just shake my head at. Central Vac system motor went up in smoke. Its an easy fix just install a new one. Bedroom Frameless window is overlapping at the bottom preventing it from closing all the way. Would of thought that would have been caught at the factory. Gotta love RV's as it stands for repair vehicle not recreational vehicle like we all think.

Into the 70's today. Tomorrow it's clean out the pens day. Lots of manure to move. I just rent a Bobcat for the day and do some driveway maintenance as well.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
We've been RVing for more than twenty years and with two different Motorhomes. All I can say is you need to know how to fix things from time to time.
It's been said that if there are 10 RVs in a lot, 9 need something repaired.
That said, we have had a lot of fun on the road, met a lot of folks, and ate a lot of different food. It's all been good, but it's not for everyone.
What kind to you have?

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Bought it it May have a Cedar Creek 34IK 5th wheel. Pull it with a 2006 Dodge Cummins. I have some issues with it and I can fix 2 out of three myself but the third issue I need a dealer to fix. Im not scared to fix any of it myself especially the air screws. One never finds all the air screws in an RV. If you do you have had it along time.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
beautiful morning in central NC .... 74 right now on its way to 88 .... 0% chance of rain, Dorian will most certainly change that in a couple of days
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Double mocha in Henry mug was good this morning. Day is starting out cool @ 74*, but predicted to reach mid-90s later. Will do mini-grocery shop early on.
Mmmm, RV re-defined. Never heard it put that way before, Al. Lots of insight there as "repair" can be applied to anything and everything.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Air screws are screws that the installer has stripped and not bothered to replace because either he doesnt care or whoever is running the line is pushing them so hard they dont have the time. I had one bracket underneath that holds the lines to one of the slides. All 4 screws that held that bracket in place were striped out and the bracket was falling off. Im glad I caught it when I did. 40 in Creede this am. Its a little cool but the sun is out and on its way to the high 70's

Thanks for explaining the air screws. When I tried googling it I got a lotta nonsense.

Ok. At least with that one you get a lot of gag and April Fools references.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Dorian Eve .... 74 on its way to 89 with 0% chance of rain .... another heavy air day .... projections for the impact on our area from Dorian are all over the place .... hopefully they are correct that by the time it reaches us it will be moving much faster
