At 278, when the bloodtest can scare the fat boy, you say... "Lose weight fat boy, or you won't get much older."

248.5 this morning. I have lost thirty pounds in two months by changing my lifestyle..
That’s fantastic!

My wife is a massage therapist and former personal trainer. But, she is unfortunately one HELL of a good cook, and from a German background so meat and potatoes are a big part of the cooking. I really need to lose 15 lbs or so. I may join in on your diet challenge...

We have been visiting my dad in the care facility a lot lately, and one thing really stands out... THERE ARE ZERO FAT PEOPLE IN THE OLD AGE HOME.

Five weeks ago I had surgery at the Mayo to correct an Aortal Anyurism. Since then I am losing weight and don't know why.
I was 192 and now I am 182. Now I don't mind losing the weight, but I am concerned as to why and hope it will level off
somewhere reasonable. I had a younger cousin last year who had dieted and lost a lot of weight, get cancer. He was told
he would survive with maintenance chemo, but he had lost so much weight that he actually starved to death during the
treatment. He told me just before he passed that he wished he had never lost the weight.

I take after my mother. She will be 90 in Nov and has been lean and wiry her whole life. Still out in her yard cutting hedges and trimming trees.

Another hurdle... Thirteen weeks in... I broke into the thirties this morning.

239.6... :D (Nearly forty pounds down from the starting weight.)

It's a good feeling to know the effort is paying off.

It would be great to break into the twenties.

My dream is to break two hundred.

Meh, they gave me guidelines, RN is monitoring my progress and I have been submitting a spreadsheet I'm keeping in excel that tracks everything I eat, the total calories for each meal, each day, and the daily weight. She hasn't had any negative feedback. I have stayed in "the envelope" as we used to say in the Corps.

It has been a struggle, but now and then you DO reward yourself, without guilt. You can have a favorite candy bar, a couple warm cookies, a SLICE of cake or pie after dinner. Then you don't say, "Well, I blew it so, I may as well give up, and eat the rest of the bag of cookies, that cake, gallon of ice cream." 8-)

232.3 This morning... Still on track. :D

The cake was good, but that small piece?
It had been long enough that it was so rich... :?
It made me a bit queasy.

I hear ya on the gravity thing! I wore a size 10-1/2 shoe for a long time, but now the forces of nature have my buying 11-1/2 to 12.

We should put up one of those posts like the videos my daughter sent me...

"Pictures that prove your Parents/Grandparents are were cooler than you will ever be."

She asked me to send some scans to my Granddaughter of me when I was in high school and on active duty. Jo was born in Texas and they moved to OK after that. They haven't been back to VA since she was five. We have visited, but Grumpy has always been old.

I remember my shock at seeing the pics of MY grandparents in pics when they were young.
:D

I love those two videos....

Parents:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RQl-rcoIOKo

Grandparents:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EIveh5n1DWo

She said my Granddaughter couldn't believe where Grumpy had been, and things he had been able to do. She also had trouble believing the 180 pound guy in the tank top and shorts... ... Was her grumpy.

I wish I had pics of me in my uniform working on cars at the Lexus dealership for my kids and grandkids. Maybe I can still do it, and maybe a few of me holding my guns...
