Ordered a new Uberti 1885 High Wall in 45 Colt. My dealer has one coming from Italy through Taylors. Just like this but with a rear tang sight too.

Gun show was good. Bought a book, The Historic Henry Rifle. Also got a real nice free dealer catalog for Pedersoli firearms.....OMG are they drool worthy. There was lots of bolt guns, knives, a few old Winchesters, couple of HRA .22'S. Reloading supplies.

2 items of interest to me: I handled a new Pedersoli Little Betsy Sharps, scaled down version of the big bore ones. 30-30, $2700. But better yet was a used Montana Vintage Arms '74 Sharps in 45-70. Vernier rear sight, globe front sight with box of inserts, case colored metal, 34" octagon barrel. Real nice. Handled it, aimed it, cocked it. Beautiful. Straight stock. Wanted $1775 for it, but likely get it for $1500. Tempted, but I really don't need a 45-70 for target shooting. And I am not setting up to reload it either. Sure a nice gun though.

But my 1885 High Wall will be equally as much fun to shoot, and I have cabinets full of ammo already to go.

*also was looking at a real putry Pedersoli Wyatt Earp 12 gauge double barrel shotgun. 18" barrels.

And it won't beat you up either.

I ended up at a somewhat close, lgs, I bought 3000 primers, some guide rod buffers and another magazine for the 1911, and 500 rds. of 22's.

Sun came out around 8am yesterday for half hour, and then rain, sleet, snow on and off for the day. Couple of inches that was on the ground was gone by mid morning.
No snow at home this morning but mum sent me a text and its coming down again at the farm. Will have to do a run and probably move some stock and feed. We are in the middle of lambing and calving. At least the forecast for next week is sunshine and temps around 50.

Cloudy and humid here today. Any news on the arrival of Hi Wall RR. That snow sucks there 220 Its coming soon to my house but I sure aint looking forward to it.

Not ideal but at least for us it is usually only a few inches for a couple of days at most. Cows are in reasonable condition and plenty of shelter in the paddock they are calving in. We had late summer and early autumn rain and just the right time that let me lock up a paddock of grazing oats I'm moving them into as they calve.
Sheep are more of a concern, I have changed over to Dorper sheep and a sheep breed developed for the semi desert areas of Africa is probably not ideal for snow. Still they are hardy animals almost more like a goat than a sheep and seem to handle the conditions.

Does Montana Vintage Arms even make rifles? The guy who had a '74 Sharps for sale today did not seem to know much about it...I see they make sights, maybe just the sights were from them and the guy had it tagged wrong. I did not see any stamp on it, maybe it was a Shiloh or Pedersoli? Whatever it was it was a real nice rifle.

When you mentioned that earlier I wondered about that. Its either got to be a Shiloh, CSharps, or a Pedersoli. Im betting its a Pedersoli.
