Must see video of Glen Campbell's last tour

Post by Henry88 » Thu Jun 02, 2016 3:56 am

I Know, me and my music videos..........

But this really is a must see. It's Glen Campbell's last tour. At the beginning of the song, he seems confused and asks what key it's in, and fumbles around. But then, once he gets going, watch him play lead on his old Ovation (2:41/3:59).

This guy really had some talent.

Thanks for the post, Henry88.

There are so many lessons to be learned from knowing other people's stories and from seeing how they've led their lives and faced personal challenges. This story is beautiful and bittersweet.

I watched the documentary on TV. His daughter was like a mother hen taking care of him on stage. She is a good player in her own right as well.

We are dealing with this same issue within our family right now. It really is a shame when your wits leave you.

Talented guy. As a guitar player myself, he's smokin' hot when he gets going...sad story but he has a huge body of work people can enjoy. Not to mention he was in True Grit with the Duke!

"Gentle On My Mind" was my favorite from him. "The Band Perry" sang it nicely also. "Wichita Lineman" was one of my favorites too. I spent a lot of time listening to him on 33 1/3 records back in the late 1960's.

I first came to know of him when I was a young teenager in the sixties and he filled in for Brian Wilson on a Beach Boys tour. How could anyone adequately do that? Well, he did and I became an admiring fan. His body of work is indelible.

I always liked Glen C. and I remember him well from years ago too.

Losing your mind due to any type of 'issue' is worse than many other things in life.

Very true, guys.

We knew he had a drinking problem, and ended up in the slammer a few times.

My dad was a Irish WWII vet that was on the NYPD for 24 years, and drank excessively.
He wasn't a violent man, though, and didn't hit my mom or beat us. I just don't think he liked being a cop.

But a lot of this type stuff is passed on from father to son. I can be a tough habit to break.

Anyway, we weren't there, and I've seen what drunken women can do..........

but the point is a good one RanchRoper, and well taken.
