I use a Powder Cop die on my turret press. Much more accurate than eyeballing the case IMO.

I do get the occasional false positive from case variations. Like you, I would rather check a few extra powder throws than risk an over/under charged round.

That's likely because it is designed for low velocity. If you want the extra power of .357 another powder is much more appropriate. If you just want an accurate low velocity round, then it is more appropriate to a .38 load.

You also won't find data for jacketed or plated in pistol calibers. Velocity is low enough that the risk of sticking a bullet in the barrel is too great.
