Range report Sat 6/22/19

Post by deano5150 » Sat Jun 22, 2019 9:23 pm

I took two of my Henrys to the range for a quick shooting session today. I put 10 rounds through my BBSC 357 and 45 rounds through my Golden Boy 22LR.

I’m still getting used to the Skinner sights I installed on the BBSC recently. I shot two five round groups at 25 yards from a rest. I’m very pleased with the windage but my elevation is “hit or miss”. I just need to figure out where to hold (I think a 6 o’clock hold is where I need to be) and get my fundamentals right consistently.

I still have the factory buckhorn sights on my Golden Boy. I have it sighted in with CCI Mini Mag 36gr HP but today I was shooting higher velocity Winchester 1300fps 40gr round nose at 25 yards. After a few shots I realized I needed a 6 o’clock hold instead of covering the target.
Lucky first shot!

The last 15 shots were on a steel resetting rimfire target offhand at 15 yards. Fun stuff! My BBSC now has over 500 rounds through it and the Golden Boy has over 5000 rounds through it.

Good work with both guns. I do recommend a six o'clock to help with the elevation issue. You're on the right track. Keep up the good work.

Good shooting with both of those Henrys.
Reaching 5000 rounds thru the Golden Boy has no doubt been helped by using the Spee-D-Loader. ;) It's a great tool to easily and quickly load up a Henry .22 magazine.

Thanks for your Range Report.
