Very nice there, 5shot.
As far as the microgroove rifling, it was introduced in the rimfires first, around 1953.
Not at home at the moment so I can't reference my Brophy's book.

Great minds think alike Vaquero, I took this pics last night from my Brophy.

5shot, here’s some info on your M/100 including info on the Micro-groove barrel.

Thank you for the research Hatch!! RP...Seems like your rememberer ain't too far off. I would guess at 1957-59. The gun is a microgroove, walnut stock, stamped steel trigger guard with a 22 inch barrel.

I still wonder how they would price this at $39 but the sales guy made it clear that this category of gun couldn't be returned. If you bought it and it doesn't work it's your problem.

I'm just finishing the Sears Roebuck Model 25 auto loader. Hoping to get all three of these bargain specials to the range tomorrow or Monday. Stay tuned.

Got out to the range this afternoon. All three bargain basement rifles are now sighted in and functioning well. This was at 25 yards and the accuracy is about the best this old man can muster with iron sights. The Stevens elevation is a little too high with CCI standards but is perfect with CB shorts and that's what it going to get used with. Marlin accuracy was really good. Had to drift the sight a bit.

Our rifle range President was out there and he looked up the Sears Roebucks Model 25. They were made for Sears by High Standard. At first I thought it was going to have cycling issues because the bolt remained open after firing.....BUT...when the trigger was released the bolt closed and fed another round. Interesting. I've never encountered that feature before. The gun cycles perfectly and seems to prefer mini mags. Cleaned off the 50 yard plate rack consistently. :D

Nicely done, both the shooting and the resurrection of those bargain basement beauties.
