I just (finally) bought my first long awaited Henry carbine in 45 LC, I was wondering about polishing/maintaining the brass (I started having flashbacks to boot camp DI's screaming at me about dull "brightwork"...thankfully, I found this thread and am confidently allowing the brass to age naturally (being naturally lazy, I was going to anyway, but now I wont have the guilt)...I don't clean my truck or my Harley either!
This isn't the only topic on shiny or patina brass.
Here are few others...

Yes we know. The topic here though is about the Big Boy brass. It is made from a brass alloy.

 I hear ya on the on the truck, neither of mine get washed that much, I do like the Interior kept up. The Road King rides just as well dirty as it does clean, but I do keep it fairly clean.
As to the brass model 44 I have, I bought it used with a nice patina and love the aged look.
Heck I took the H001 and stripped the receiver cover and barrel band, then let them tarnish a bit and clear coated them.

Yeah, got it. But, like Mags said, we're talking about the BB brass CF rifles here. Not the .22's.
