I have tried quite a few types of ammo in my 452, and am now able to report on which ones it likes.

As for medium-priced match ammo, it goes like this: 1. SK Rifle Match 2. Eley Club 3. RWS. (RWS was a distant third).

I've tried two expensive kinds of match ammo, and the results were: 1. Eley Tenex 2. Federal Gold Medal Ultra-Match.

Both of those did slightly better than SK Rifle Match.

As for regular price standard velocity ammo, I have tried CCI and Aguila, and the results have been ho-hum.

Using high velocity ammo, it's hard to tell, because each brand shoots about four inches off in different directions from where my scope is zeroed for 1080 fps ammo. If I really wanted to test accuracy of HV varieties, I'd have to change my scope, and I'm not in a hurry to do that.

Bottom line? For my rifle, SK Rifle Match seems to be the sweet spot. It provides a lot of accuracy for the price. If I were shooting in a match? Eley Tenex is just enough better than the SK that it would be worth the additional cost.

Meanwhile... a brick of Thunderduds is waiting for me at Cabela's... let's see how they shoot. :)

I am seeing and hearing more and more about CZ firearms but hadn't heard of them until very recently.

Are they good quality? I know that's rather vague but would like opinions from those who own them.

Plain and simple, CZ makes some of the best firearms in the world. Their rifles are known for their stellar accuracy. Their CZ 75B is one of the best semi-auto pistols there is. They are an old company, but because they were "behind the Iron Curtain" for many years, we in the free world didn't know much about them.

CZ's production facility in the Czech Republic is the largest firearms factory in the world. CZ also makes some guns in America. They own Dan Wesson, maker of higher end 1911's and revolvers.

They have a U.S. presence, CZ-USA, headquartered in Kansas City.

No problem. Now you can buy some CZ rifles to keep your Henry rifles company. :)

I have a CZ 9822 which is a Mauser action that was redesigned in 1922 and made in 1923. And I have a CZ52 piston made in the mid 50's. And of coarse a dozen or so new 454's and 455's.

What man doesn't need "a dozen or so" CZ rifles?

Today was a so-so shooting day. No wind, but it was dark here this morning. My target looked better from the bench than it did when I walked out to retrieve it. One bright spot, though, was that I was consistent. My groups were all close to the same size.

I also shot my H001 a bit. It no longer wears a scope. I have the original stock rear sight, and a Hiviz front sight with the green fiber optic insert. I am currently no longer conflicted about my H001. I spent quite a few hours this past summer and early fall trying to wring out as much accuracy as I could get from it. I found out what I could do with it, and what I could not do. I am now at peace with my Henry Classic.

I hear you ditto. I've tried to make a silk purse out of my Classic too.
