What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
If you have some 2400 stick about 14 grain under those XTP bullets. How much HS-6 are you using in the Colt . Ive tried that and had good luck with HS-6.

Hey Big Al, I dropped 11.5 grn under a 200 grn XTP. I have used 2500 and like it, but I am down to 1 pound and can't find any right now. I have 4 pounds of HS-6 and thought I would give it a try. I am looking for around 800 to 850 FPS on the Chrono.

Thanks RR, coming from a true mountain man, I appreciate it.
I do not know who made it. My son had it made for me and gave it to me for Fathers Day ten years ago, so it is special to me and I always wear it on my cartridge belt.
On a side note, I have one that looks similar I keep in the safe that my father made in the boondocks of Elmendorf Texas when he was 16 around 1924. He killed the deer and used the antler for the Handle.

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
The LGS was out of the Hornady .452 250 gr XTP's for the long colt loads. I ordered two boxes online so I'll get to those when they come in. Finished loading some Sierra 140 gr HP's over 12.8 gr of Accurate #9 for the .357 yesterday. I really like that load. It shoots well in the Vaquero. I'm going to load some more .32 S&W longs today for the 31-1, LCR, and Single Seven. They make a nice plinking load.

I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.

RR - Here are the two knives we were talking about. The top one is the one I carry on my cartridge belt my son gave me, and the one below it is the one my father made coming on 96 years ago 9his initials are carved in the handle).

Thanks for the link, Al. I've never used 2400, but since so many members like it (a lot), I checked it out. With shipping and the HazMat fee, the cost for a four pound container is about $38 per pound. Too much. I'll look for it locally once I can and do get back to shooting again.

I looked around there CT and tried to find the shipping and Haz Fee but I didnt actually add anything to a cart. Thats probably why they still have some. Agreed thats a little on the gouging side.
