Yikes, you guys in Western Washington are getting hammered. Glad it’s a Saturday not a weekday, I’m sure the morning commute was dicey.

Gene, the snow is the perfect highlight for your wheelbarrows and vintage trailer. Looks great. I’m hoping you cut 2-3” off the bottom of that tape and aren’t really sitting on 7.5 inches of snow.

Sure wish we still had the Northwest Cable News channel, I used to love watching the snow coverage when it hit the greater Seattle area. Especially the hills. I have always thought that even tho I grew up driving in snow I would’t want to drive those Seattle hills when covered by snow even in the best 4x4.

A man & wife exchanged Valentine's cards at the store.
Then they put them back in the rack. Done!
Happy Valentine's day.

Wow Randy is up early probably getting things in order to watch the big race. :P Got up about 345 to take the dogs out one of them had to go. Got dressed hooked up the leash opened the door grabbed on to the hand rail which was wet from the light rain. Hand slipped lost my balance and crashed. Shoved the handrail into my head and gashed it opened. Happy Valentines Day. Just got back a little while ago had 10 staples put in my head. Gonna put some of that grip tape on that rail should be on there anyway. 36 right now headed to 41. Might need 🥃 whiskey in my coffee

Wow Al...take care of yourself! We got a bit lucky after the ice storm last night still have power and just a couple limbs broke on the magnolia tree.
Right now half of our city is out of power and much worse in surrounding areas.
I was out on my back deck yesterday letting Buster out and took note of all the hard slick ice on the steps and said nope not going to try that since hand rail was a iced up mess. You all in the mid west take care.

Dang Al, that's terrible!

Brings back memories of a Valentine's Day about five or so years ago.
Carol's garage door opener had quit, so I purchased a new one and on Valentine's Day, which was also a Sunday,
and the Daytona 500, I decided to install it that morning for her.
Well the center bearing for the door spring wasn't installed quite right. They just drove lag screws in with out
pre drilling into the header block. As I was installing the end of the track right over that bearing it broke out of
the block and started spinning releasing all that torsion spring tension. Got both of my hands lacerated.
Well anyway, Carol drove me to the Emergency Room where a pretty young lady took down all the info,
another pretty young lady washed the blood off my hands, a nice looking nurse injected some pain killer, and then a
nice looking female Doctor came in to stich them up.
Wow! All this female attention for little old me. I was actually enjoying it. How could it get better I wondered.
So I asked if they could get the 500 on that little TV in the room, and they did.
Then I blew it and asked for a beer.
True story. I'm one of those folks who tries to find humor in everything.

Hang in there Al. Life's a bitch. Don't let the bastards win.

OK, enough of my sad story.
-15 with a brisk wind, the sun is shinning brightly. Looks like another week of the cold.
Carol went to church yesterday afternoon so we wouldn't be out in the -45 wind chill this morning.
Got a nice valentine and a box of chocolate covered strawberries. :D
Folgers with Honey Oat Flakes and a strawberry. :D

Al sorry to hear about you getting dinged up, make it an Irish coffee, that’ll heal up but it might take 2 of them. Bright and sunny, -24 this Valentines morning, expected high is -2. As always a wind chill warning (-50). Everybody have a great Valentine’s Day!

Taking Buster for his walk this morning and you had to watch out for ice falling off the utility lines as it melts. Buster took one on the head but shook it off and I took a few hits too!

Hey Al, sorry to hear about your miss-adventure. That’s a pretty severe fall, heal up!

Currently 18 heading to 25 with a high overcast. Snow coming in tonight into tomorrow but the bulk of it is supposed to stay south of me. Maybe 2” or so. What Sir Henry would call a “good start”. :o

This week brings a gradual warmup to more seasonal temperatures. For that I’m glad and I sure hope the central part of the country from the northern border to the gulf moderates too. Yikes what a ride you folks have been on.

I’m wrestling with my inner beast today. Even when I wasn’t watching much NASCAR I always watched the 500. After skipping the first five NFL Seattle Seahawk games I wimped out and watched the rest of the season. Now I face the same decision with the 500.... there is the Pebble Beach Pro-Am golf tourney which is always fun to watch with all the hi jinx's of the amateurs.

I don't watch NASCAR anymore either, however, I do usually tune into the beginning of the 500 to see the flyover and a few laps.
Then I will move on to other things.
