I have my eye on one gun to add to the collection, and unless I sell off a gun or two from the safe, it'll wait until next year. It's a want vs. a need and I'm too old to let the wants hurt me.
We have a couple other projects taking priority.

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
I don't look back at the things I can't do anymore with regret, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Congratulations on the 1006.
I have the 645. I thought about the 1006 when it came out, but wasn't interested in the 10mm.
I hope you enjoy them both.

I like the looks of the hand cannons. I have a couple.
I have been offered a couple over the years I turned down...
Desert Eagle .50.
Freedom Arms 454...
Just couldn't see owning something I either wouldn't shoot or couldn't afford to shoot.

Re: Single man evolution, field artillery piece acquired!
The one I was offered was a limited edition Hunter Model. It came in a case, with a plate marked 1 of 300. Never fired, still had the zip tie thru the trigger guard. Had a scope on the thing, 10-1/2" barrel. Custom Grips. Beautiful Gun. I would have loved to own it. But... I don't own many guns I won't shoot. With my arthritis these days, a 454 is on the list of "Won't." Plus, I don't have anything I need to HUNT with that one. LOL. My friend who was cleaning out the safe said if I wanted it, he'd hold it until I was ready. I thought about it, and told him to sell it and buy something HE could use. He did, and got WAY more than he would have asked me to pay. Bought suppressors.

I do have an 1800s Husqvarna Coach Gun (now make chainsaws) and a Colt #1 22 short Derringer that were gifts, I keep because they are cool. Both are serviceable and can be shot... I just don't.

You can send them back to FA and they will fit you a 45 acp, and or 45 colt cylinder. You need a taller front sight, but they readily have them available.BrokenolMarine wrote: ↑Fri Sep 19, 2025 5:32 pmThe one I was offered was a limited edition Hunter Model. I shoot mine with the 45 colt cylinder loaded to some pretty spicy levels. Not quite 454c but, pretty close to 44 mag.
