Non Pistol Mares Leg?
Non Pistol Mares Leg?
Took the butt stock off my “Peg Leg” and put it on my H001 16” barreled Carbine. Measured 26.25” still rifle length by law and only 1 1/4” longer than my OEM H001ML. One could pick up an extra butt stock cut it down and have a convertible. You just wouldn’t want to tighten the stock screw to tight doing change overs as not to cause excessive thread wear. This is the stock I used I didn’t take a picture of the stock on the gun but just imagine 6 1/8” more inch’s on the barrel.

Re: Non Pistol Mares Leg?
I think I may have shot something like a Mare's Leg and did appreciate the benefits of holding the gun out in that fashion. It felt natural to me.
I think Sir Henry had mentioned being quite fond of the Mare's Leg.

Would it not be dificult to rack that lever...especially given a hot barrel?RanchRoper wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2019 11:11 pmThat's pretty much how it all started with Henry....

The ML is one gun I've never shot. Yeah, I know, hard to believe but, hey, now I have an excuse to try one.

Please go for it NCG if you have the opportunity . I never knew that kind or gun ever existed. I find it very interesting...a lever action pistol??North Country Gal wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2019 7:54 pmThe ML is one gun I've never shot. Re: Non Pistol Mares Leg?
I would not think so...
At least, not what I would choose. Still interesting to me how it was used, and why?
