Clovispup and I forwent the weekly range trip and went to a local(ish) Audubon preserve, the Francis Beidler Forest. It is a Tupelo Cypress swamp with a couple miles of boardwalk that is home to lots of birds, plants and other wildlife. Anyway, the Pup took most of the pics.
Pretty sure I took this one, and the rest are by the Pup.
Both of these are yellow crested night herons. The first one caught a crayfish while we were watching.
I love the look of this one. A different bug with more color would be nice, but you take your opportunities a they appear.
This is a prothonotory warbler. Two of them were making a nest in a cypress knee.
And yet another warbler, or is it the same one?
Spring has sprung. Get out and shoot your Henry

Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

Re: Yet another outing
Thanks for sharing these beautiful photos and for describing your time with Clovispup.
I like them all, but the colorless bug on the leaves with that great shadow is especially cool.
