Aguila SV 22 rimfire
I bought a brick of Aguila SV yesterday. It shoots at 1,130 fps which is slightly faster than the others. I’ve had good luck with Aguila shorts so thought I would give them a try.

Re: Aguila SV 22 rimfire
Be waiting to hear how they preform Gene, these Super Extra HP ammo shot well in the 3 rifles I tried them in.
I still haven't shot them past the 25 yd mark yet. I need to.

Re: Aguila SV 22 rimfire
Something there should shoot well. Tac 22 does well for me and it is RWS Rifle Target in Norma's box. They both do very well for me but like other 22 ammo it depends on lot number. SK standard plus is probably the most consistent of the ammo that shoots well and doesn't hit your wallet too hard. CCI standard can be great shooting for its price but also can be not too good. Good enough for off hand practice. Aguila is a pistol and spinner ammo for my wife and myself. Once in a while Aguila can have great accuracy if you find a good lot. Enjoy testing your ammo and watching for your report.

Re: Aguila SV 22 rimfire
Aguila has done well for me as far as good practice ammo, right there with CCI and some types of Federal bulk. Back during one of the rimfire ammo shortages, we found a bunch of it so grabbed what we could. I don't run it in my match grade guns, but overall, good plinking and offhand practice ammo. It's certainly priced right and available and that's a big plus.

I have some of that super extra Aguila. But in my guns with copper plated ammo nothing shoots as well as CCI Mini Mag. The Remington Golden Bullet is also very good

I've have some Aguila ammo that came with a Ruger American Rimfire rifle I bought a a year ago. I was very impressed with the performance of the ammo and plan to buy more.

I was going to put out paper today but the range was way too muddy. I should throw down some gravel.

Re: Aguila SV 22 rimfire
I have never tried Aquilla ammo (or RWS).
My favorite .22 ammo is the CCI mini mag 36 grain plated HP. I also use quite a bit of Federal Auto Match (handguns) and the Federal Champion bulk 36 grain plated HP.
I bought a brick of the Norma Tac 22 last year and only have about 30 rounds left. It has been accurate for me but spent brass is difficult to extract from my Ruger Single Six and my Taurus 9 shot double action 992. Trying to extract 9 empty cases from the 992 is frustrating because you have to hit the extraction rod very forcefully to eject all 9 rounds. CCI and Federal spent cases are not tight against the cylinder walls and often fall out without using the ejection rod. Don't know if Norma cases are a little thinner and expand more or what the difference is.

Had the same issues Steve when trying that in a Uberti 1873 Cattleman 12 shot 22. I havent tried it in anything else but have a feeling that it will get shot up in a levergun and I wont be buying anymore.Steve51 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2024 5:07 pmI have never tried Aquilla ammo (or RWS).
