Six 2-week Vacations
Now that I’m settled in Wisconsin I’m wondering what to do. I really enjoy it here yet I still yearn to travel. Since summers are great here I’m planning mostly fall, winter and spring trips. I’ve found one to two weeks is perfect.
Last December I was gone for two, February I was gone for two, and in April I will be gone for one week. Then in June-July I will fly up to Alaska for two weeks. I have several more solo overnight trips planned for the summer in my teardrop. I’m now making plans to go somewhere this fall and winter to get away from the cold and snow. I’m thinking of heading south again. Most likely I’ll take my 97 year old neighbor and her daughter. We are like mother-son and brother-sister. I pay for all travel expenses and Linda my sister pays for the resorts/hotels we stay at.
Being retired is wonderful and I highly recommend it!

You go Gene. Great schedule you have. We too like to travel on the shoulder seasons keeping away from big trips when kids are out of school. Enjoy.

Re: Six 2-week Vacations
Back in Seattle I knew several households that did not prepare for retirement. They were my age and lived in a million dollar house, drove expensive cars and drank nice wine yet they were so heavy in debt they had to keep working. Then they complained Covid19 and the government. Is living within your means such a hard concept? It must be because the federal government can’t do it either.markiver54 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 09, 2023 10:02 pmretirement...aaah yes!

I hear Ya Gene. I'm on a fixed income and definitely not rich, just comfortable. The only debt I have is my mortgage.
