Spotted a gorgeous unfired old CCH Savage 24V .222 over 20 gauge
This popped up on my local firearm classifieds in Eastern WA, I think is a very cool gun.

I have no clue about the price, but it seems OK to me. I don’t want to buy it, but I thought some of you guys would be. Interested,....

Does anyone know how accurate the 24V would be with a scope?

Have one in 22mag/20ga, only scope it has ever had on it is a 1-3.5x. Only ever tested it at 50y but with preferred ammo it will shoot 1/2".

Hey John,
I too am drooling over that Savage 24V, I have always wanted one and I just happen to have some 222 ammo and brass on hand. Already have a 20 ga so lots of that on hand too. I figure that if I buy the Savage that will delay getting a Henry 30-30 so I’m very conflicted The seller believes it’s unfired which is good for a collector but for me........nope!
Best I can hope for is to see it marked SOLD....

Those Savage OUs go for crazy high prices when they show up at an auction, around here. Have seen the 22/410 versions in okay condition sell for the same $750. That one wouldn't last long in our area.

You can get a Henry any ole time..... you will not run across another 24V in that shape for that price, with a local seller... you can go look it over in person... Buy it now or you will forever be kicking yourself. I have been in your shoes several times, and delayed deciding over super deals for really nice unusual guns, and I forever regret my hesitation. “You snooze, you lose.”Hatchdog wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 10:45 amHey John,

Enjoy it. Shoot it. Baby it. Store it in a full gun sock. They made a gazillion of these rifles since 1939. They will never be super collectable, even ones like this.
