Summer issue of Guns Of The Old West
Summer issue of Guns Of The Old West
I just got the summer issue of Guns Of The Old West. It has two good H.R.A. articles. One is about the company and the fact that they made over three hundred thousand rifles in 2013 using the combined output of Rice Lake and the New Jersey plant. The other write up is about the 410 Axe. There is always a lot of good reading in this magazine. I highly recommend it.

Have bought a couple in the past. Yes, it's a good publication. Might have to pick that one up.

The spring issue had a great article on the Uberti Tom Horn 45-60 rifle.

Did you catch the big mistake in the spring issue , the rolling block write up? The writer said that the rolling block pistols that the U.S. Navy had were chambered in 50-70. WRONG. Cartridges Of The World gives the correct information it was the 50 Navy and it used 28 grains of black powder. Can you imagine shooting a 50-70 single shot pistol?
