HOT weather great for Co2 pistol shooting.....

Post by fortyshooter » Tue Jul 28, 2020 3:04 pm

To hot to be shooting at the range today so dug out one of my Co2 BB shooters this morning,,,,the Swiss Arms 1911 .177 BB shooter and being hot as all it would be a good day for some quick can popping. Haven't had this thing out in several years so hopefully it would function OK.
This is a very detailed copy of a 1911 pistol and functions and breaks down like my Ruger SR 1911...even the Ruger magazine slides right in!
I also had given the trigger a little custom work...polished and holed.

So popped a few cans and then put up a target 25 ft. out to see how it shot on paper. Not to bad!

Didn't spend to much time out in that 97 degree sunshine maybe 105 with the humidity!

Thanks for letting us join you. Looked for that model on a couple of air gun sales sites. Not available, so I looked up the Sig Sauer co2 pistols. Mighty tempting to put one in the shopping cart. Thanks for enabling me. :D

Forty, thank you so much. I have to get one of those. How many shots to a CO2 cartridge?

Thanks for watching folks! I get about 2-3 mag loads which is 18 BB's per load out of Co2 and that is based on what the outside temps are...the hotter the better with Co2. Just don't lay it out in the hot sun for too long!
Seemed to shoot well today but you can have a BB jam now and then much like a real 1911.
That newer looking Swiss Arms pictured above looks really good and hey they got my trigger mod too!

Seabee...did you put one in your cart yet?? :D

Not yet, I put the Sig Molon Labe 1911 model in the wish list on Amazon. But found it at Pyramid Air for $25 less. And then stumbled across the Sig P226 Navy CO2 pellet pistol for the same price. I have wanted one in 40 for a long time. Maybe plinking with the pellet gun version will push me over the edge to loosen up the purse strings for its big brother.
