Leaded Stained Glass Windows

Post by Sir Henry » Fri Mar 06, 2020 6:53 pm

I picked up two more stained glass windows today. I’ve been looking at them for about four years and one year ago I bought my first one.

I already had two of these......

I’m not sure what I’ll do with them and just put them on the sill. I’m still painting and this room is currently used to store furniture.

It’s fun to see them and imagine where they might end up. Have fun.

Nice to have the extra color in a room. The lead is not that difficult to work but I have not been able to consistently cut glass with a straight line so I have no luck cutting curves. This is not a talent that I have pursued. Good find, always a nice touch.

These are all from Europe and were made in the 1800’s. The wood on them is solid but not pretty. They all need some putty and paint but at least all the glass is good.

Those are very nice. They filter light in a calming way.

They look neat Gene. Maybe incorporate them into an existing window somehow

That’s what I’m planning.

I'm planning on looking for some once we get settled to hang in front of windows on the east and west side of the house. I have always admired the play of light thru them.
