Momma Told Me Not to Come

Post by clovishound » Wed Jan 22, 2020 4:19 pm

Well the Pup and I are headed out to see Three Dog Night in a little while. I don't think there are more than one or two original members left in the band, but should be a good time. I loved their music back in the 70s. Had a couple 8 tracks by them.

I'll never forget Graduation night. I had been invited to a party. After the ceremony I was at a loose end, so thought I'd drop by. I opened the door and looked around. The words from the song went through my head as I saw the kind of party it appeared to be. I closed the door and left. Probably one of the better on the spot decisions I've ever made in my life. I was never a party animal anyway.

I saw them in concert way back when and always liked them. One is the loneliest number that you will ever do.

Had to look it up, there are 2 original members left in the band. Some of the replacements come from notable backgrounds. David Morgan (vocalist) was with the Association, and Howard Laravea (keyboard) formerly of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons

there is no doubt that I've never developed an appreciation for music .... as hard as it may be to believe, other than a couple when our daughter was in her high school band, I've never attended a musical concert of any type ... there is a 7 CD changer in our Sportchassis and I don't own a CD .... I don't listen to any type of music while traveling or at home .... yep, that's weird and that's me

.
I don't think that weird. I don't have any CDs either. My 20yr old Toyota Tundra has a combo CD/Cassette/AM/FM radio that I have never used. I went to an outdoor country western show at the local fairgrounds once. Wasn't a pleasant experience. Too far from the stage to see the singers. So loud the quality of music was mangled.

I used to tell folks that if they didn't sing it on the TV show HEE Haw I didn't know anything about it .... during the Elvis era, I did like Pat Boone and Ricky Neslson .... when it comes to music, I've always been on the outside and didn't bother to look back in .... ;)

Saw them some years after their heyday at the San Bernardino County Fairgrounds. Cow paddies and Jeremiah was a bullfrog. Ya' gotta' love it.

Music...Music...c'mon Jim, it's kinda like the blood of life! Many different genres, however, to me, music is therapeutic
And a much loved part of my life. Music can be as good as almost any pharmaceutical I take.
Without music and memories...life would lack much joy!!!!
Plesae put something in that CD player, close your eyes and enjoy.

Well, the Pup and I just got back. Had a really good time. The music was terrific. The vocals weren't what they used to be, but hey, these guys are in their 70s, and they are 3 Dog Night. Everybody at the event seemed to really be having a dog gon' good time.
