New Guy From Texas
Just joined. Bought a Long Ranger 6.5 Creedmoor last week. Trigger pull over 8#, Buttstock larger than recoil pad about 1/16" all sides.
On its way to the factory for warranty fix.
Far as I can tell this is the first Creedmoor Long Ranger to come into the Houston area.
I have a bolt action (Savage) I Creedmoor that is a lights out deer killer with 143 gr. ELD-X bullets.
Cant wait to see how I can do with a lever action in the same caliber...

Welcome from the TV Oregon!
I recently bought an LR in .223/5.56. It too went back for warranty work. Fast turnaround, more time on the road than getting fixed.

Check your HWS status on the Henry website. Might take a couple of days, but what they did should eventually get posted there.

Re: New Guy From Texas
I am an experienced guy with firearms. That said, I did not want to tinker with the trigger pull (over 8 lbs.) Considering what I paid for the rifle, I decided to let them do the tinkering so the rifle maintains it's warranty.
Other issue was fit of buttstock to recoil pad. Wood was oversize, don't know the fix except to replace it.
Of interest are the instructions on how to clean it...Instruction is to run a cleaning rod down the bore from the breech end toward the muzzle!
I would like to see a video of exactly how to do that with a straight, stiff cleaning rod! I say bullshit, since instructions are to NOT disassemble rifle...

It's not BS.
See this video for the .45-70 as an example, using the OTIS rip cord and cable rods (skip ahead to 1:55).
https://www.henryusa.com/own-a-henry/he ... 010-h010b/
You can also use a normal brass or aluminum empty rod fed into the muzzle. Once the end of the rod reaches the breach, work a swab onto the end of it through the breach opening (needle nose pliers or tweezers may help)..

Re: New Guy From Texas
Rifle returned today. Repair ticket noted that Henry replaced the buttstock and trigger guard assembly, adjusted the lock up and checked over the rifle. Trigger pull is now 6 lbs.
Enclosed in the shipping box is a blued steel gadget that I have no clue as to the purpose.
Pic's attached if I can figure out how to do it....
