They seem to be built out of a lighter gauge steel than some years ago.
I picked up a couple for use as burn barrels and I remember them being heavier when empty. Hopefully they will last a while.
Site seems to be OK. Load issue should be resolved now.
Todays steel 55 gal. barrels ?

Maybe after you shoot some ventilation holes in it you'll be able to tell.
