165's in .45 Colt

Post by Rifletom » Mon Dec 24, 2018 12:50 pm

I was given some[500!] 165gr RNFP lead bullets. Bag says 165gr RNFP, .453". From Bonus Bullets in Canon City, Co. Ever hear of them? Will these work in a Henry or other lever rifles? I'll either use 'em or possibly trade if someone has interest.
Thanks and Merry Christmas.

You'll find several positive comments from those who have experience with that company here:

I would think that they would just fine.
Have you slugged the barrel?
You may have to resize them.
Have fun.

Rifletom should work ok. But Im not sure what the bore of the Henrys slug at. You may get some leading with them if they dont seal up right. That being said it isnt the end of the world. Clean up may be a little tougher and your accuracy might not be what it should be but if there free Id shoot them for plinking anyway.

Thanks for the replies on Christmas Eve fellas. Enjoy Christmas and maybe some more answers after Christmas. Thinking I may try to trade them for a couple hundred 250-255 RNFP bullets if there is any interest. Have a good one folks. Ho-ho-ho!
