The single shot shotguns?

Post by JNG3 » Thu Jan 25, 2018 8:59 pm

Anyone know when these will be available? I see the single shot rifles are starting to ship and few folks have bought them. Really want a steel frame 12 guage.

Handled a brass 12ga one at the LGS last week - very nice shotgun.

The only place I've seen them is Gunbroker, and they don't stay up there for long. There was a 12 ga. with dandy wood there for a little while, I would have been tempted if it had been a 20 ga. or .410 bore.

Go to GalleryofGuns.com and see if they have any dealers in your area. If they do and the shotguns are in stock on the website, you can order one from the website and have it delivered to a store near you. You have to make a deposit via the website first and pay the remainder at the store. If there are none in stock on the website, you can join a waiting list and you will receive an email when it is available. This is how I acquired the single shot .223.

There are many listings on the various wholesalers websites, but all are out of stock.

I think that they may have to be special ordered from our FAVORITE gun store man. That is how we get or got most of our guns anyway.

My husband would want to see and handle one in person. Me too.

He is interested in a steel/walnut one in a .410 bore all over AGAIN.

I have yet to see either a single shot rifle or shotgun in a store - but I don't get out much ;) . I have seen the shotguns, including .410 bore, on Gunbroker, though, and offered from some folks I've done business with on other things.

This thread died months ago, but surely by now one of our forum members has bought one of these single shots? Anybody?

I haven't bought one, but have finally laid eyes on one. They look good.

I had a steel 243 in my hands a few months ago, in Denver. Very nice rifle. Solid and tight. And beautiful wood. Not sure of caliber, but I want one.

There seem to be plenty of official reviews of the shotguns out there, but not much Forum-type chatter or feedback.

The reviewers seem to like 'em, though!

Yep, the single shot shotguns are pretty widely available, but we've had very little feedback from owners here who have actually bought one. Am looking specifically for anyone who has owned/shot the 20 ga.

Time will tell...

I saw one just today at my favorite gun shop. It was in the used rack. It was a blued twenty gauge. I have to say that it was a fine piece of craftsmanship. It had screw in choke tubes, extras in a small bag. It's wood was great, fit was tight and perfect. It was a beautiful gun.

It is not the next Henry on my list, so it stayed there.

The place in Rice lake where I've ordered my single shot rifles, had a blued frame .410 the last time I was there. It looked really good, but, like daytime dave, it's not quite high enough on my priority list - yet ;) .

Yep, lots of single shot rifles making the rounds among members here, but not many (if any) shotgun buyers yet. It's moved down my list, too. Handled a 223 at Bass Pro yesterday - as best you can, given the way they lock them down - but it was a handy little package. Very nicely finished. The wood was so-so, so back to the rack it went.

.
Currently have a Mossberg .410. If I were to someday replace it, Henry .410 it would be.
