A great music voice stilled....Glen Campbell

Post by PT7 » Tue Aug 08, 2017 4:56 pm

Just read the report that Glen Campbell has passed away.
Here is the article link....nice write-up sharing the works of a great musician and vocalist.

Wichita Lineman & By the Time I Get To Phoenix are two of my favorite songs.
And I just happened to watch "True Grit" this last week, in which Campbell starred with John Wayne.

All most enjoyable performances.....his voice will be missed.
May he rest in peace, and all his family be comforted.

A family fav when I was a kid, and I enjoyed him anytime his music rolled around in rotation on the radio.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

The Texas Ranger in True Grit. It was great fun to watch Glen and Rooster Cogburn banter back and forth.
He was an amazing guitarist too.

Agree wholeheartedly – he was one of a trio I really liked as a child (I was born in 1964), along with Johnny Cash and Roger Miller.

I watched the documentary that was made fairly early in his battle with Alzheimer's. Very sad.
