RUGER 10/22 MAGNUM?

Post by Tape » Tue Dec 27, 2016 9:25 am

Hello guys, I am thinking about buying one and was wondering is, would it be a bad buy? I have heard echoes of bad things but do not know the real truth. Does anyone know the real deal with the RUGER 10/22 MAGNUM?

Would the Magnum Research be a better rifle? I heard they are identical rifles and share the same stock, trigger group etc.

I don't have any experience with the mag but I've heard the receiver isn't strong enough for the mag pressures.

Thanks for your reply SH, I just read the same. The bolt is hurried back to the stop-bolt too hard/fast and are cracking bolts. I really want a semi-auto 22mag. I have been also looking at the Magnum research's clone.

Savage makes an A22 and CZ also makes one in semi auto. You might take a look at those. Al

Definitely agree on the CZ 512. Had one in 22 LR and it gave up nothing in accuracy to our CZ bolt rifles in 22 LR. If anything, the 22 mag version of the 512 is more popular than the 22 LR version.

CZ is first class in my book. I have 2 of there pistols CZ75B one in 9mm and one in 40sw the nickel version. They are the only double action semi autos that I have any luck with. I also have one of there CZ Bolt guns a 527 that a good friend gave me brand new. Its an awesome shooter and it has a nice piece of wood on it. Al

The 10/22 Mag was not made long, probably due to the issues with the receiver. My FIL just bought a new CZ in 22 mag and it is an outstanding firearm. Very accurate, light and cycles flawless.
