My son-in-law showed up yesterday with a nice pawn shop buy he just happened to see a week or so back while in the shop looking around. It is a stainless steel Savage Axis chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. He has been waiting to go get it to be sure it was something he really did want to have. It has the box and all the contents with it and I am not sure it has been fired by who pawned it off. I suspect it may have been a gun raffle rifle won by some one and they wanted the cash more than the rifle. The 6.5 Creedmoor is a interesting cartridge. Very efficient for the small amount of powder that it uses. Friends that I know that have them are getting 3000fps with bullet weights in the 120gr range. He got this rifle for $300 and they are priced in most shops at around $469. Here is a picture of it.

The cartridge case is very close to the 22-250 or 250 Savage except having less body taper. I could see this as a good varmint rifle necked down to 224 dia.

Almost like a 22-250 Ackley Improved with the fire forming of cases. Loaded 6.5 on the right of a 22-250 casing.
