Fall type weather for the week and a Saloon visit!

Post by fortyshooter » Wed Aug 21, 2024 4:02 pm

Wow down in the 50's early this morning and a fine shooting forecast for a change so packed up my Uberti 1873 45 Colt rifle and the Ruger Bisley Blackhawk for some 45 fun. Of course had to bring the Pepper travel pack if going to the saloon and wanted to see how those paper 36 cartridges would fire. Setup a bunch of steel and had fun till around Noon and came on home. Getting better at shooting the Pepperbox as I got the right combo of aiming at center mass with the right amount of downward tilt with couple neck area hits. It does shoot high. Last important thing to do before leaving was giving that new fire ant dome a good dose of my Agent Orange solution like 5 gallons of high strength death! Hate those critters!!!

Was some great weather to shoot in today!

Looks like a great day.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

I’ve always admired your range Forty. I’m also surprised that machine shop hasn’t figured out a way to put a bead sight or something on that pepper box yet. :D

Al...I had thought of adding a brass bead over each chamber and might try super gluing one to see how tall it would need to be. If too tall ol' Spike might be interesting trying to get in and out of the holster.

I do enjoy it when the weather is nice! With all that land you have Gene I could build you an Old West front street and that would be cool! :D

Happy it’s finally cooling down and staying a bit dry. Fun times indeed.

Looks like headed for early fall here too. High 60's today, maybe some rain. Low 60's tomorrow, maybe some rain. Back into the 70's after that.
